something old, something new...
Blogin hiljaisuudelle on ollut omat syynsä, niistä jo aikaisemmin hieman salaperäisesti taisin vihjatakin. Tässä muutaman kuukauden aikana olisi nimittäin tarkoitus saada järjestettyä pienimuotoiset hääjuhlat. Avomieheni kosi tammikuun lopulla, hääpäivä päätettiin toukokuulle ja nyt melko suuri osa vapaa-ajasta on mennyt kaikenlaisessa häihin liittyvässä puuhastelussa. Kaikki on kyllä hienosti mallillaan, ainakin toistaiseksi - ja asenne rennon huoleton!
Ajattelin aluksi tehdä oman häämekkoni, mutta se olisi kenties ollut tässä kaikessa myllerryksessä hieman liikaa. Jotakin itsetehtyä tahdoin kuitenkin alttarille mukaani, joten kipaisin hakemassa Menitasta kaksi vyyhteä Wetterhoffin Silviaa luonnonvalkoisena huivia varten. Sopiva huivimalli on kuitenkin ottanut oman aikansa löytyäkseen ja tällä viikolla lähtikin nettiputiikista tilaukseen Jane Sowerbyn Victorian Lace Today. Ravelrystä olen jo ennakkoihastellut montaa eri mallia, toivottavasti jokin niistä on toteutukseltaan sopivan simppeli valmistuakseen ajoissa ilman hermoromahdusta.
Häiden ohella jotain muutakin on vielä tekeillään, mutta siitä myöhemmin...
There is a reason for the silence that has taken over this blog. Most of my free time has for the past few months been filled with wedding plans. That's right, my boyfriend proposed, we set the date to May and now there's a lot of fun little wedding stuff in the works. Everything is going along fine and relaxed. Fun!
I thought of sewing my own wedding dress but decided that with all of this going on it would maybe be a bit too much. I wanted to make something though, so I bought two skeins of Wetterhoff Silvia from my LYS and started to look for a shawl pattern. It wasn't as easy as I hoped to find one just right for this so now I'm waiting for Victorian Lace Today by Jane Sowerby to arrive in the mail. I've already admired some of the patterns in Ravelry and will surely find something suitable there! Hopefully I will be able to finish the shawl in time though.
There's still something else going on, but I'll save some news till later...
